Educator Preparation Program

Western Colorado University

Adult Degree Completion + Teacher Licensure

This new program was designed for adults with some college credit who are interested in obtaining their teaching license. Candidates complete the requirements for a general studies degree and the final year complete the coursework and residency requirements for a teaching license. All coursework is delivered online and asynchronously so that you can stay in your position while earning your degree. If you are a paraprofessional or long-term sub, we work with your district to identify a mentor teacher and create a schedule that enables you to reach your goals. Candidates must be at least 23 years old, have a 2.0 GPA from previous college coursework and successfully pass the required Praxis exams prior to beginning the final residency year. Significant funding is available!
